As the IT function leader, you will develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies for planning and delivering IT services. You must also be familiar with capital planning regulations and policies to demonstrate the total cost of proposed investments and contribute to the IT capital planning process.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor metrics to evaluate the accomplishment of IT goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain strategic plans to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinate employees to ensure timely performance of satisfactory work quality.
- Prepare detailed technical reports recommending effective systems approaches to maximize benefits to the organization.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong project management skills, including developing plans and schedules, defining milestones and deliverables, and monitoring activities to manage assigned projects. You should also have experience designing, developing, and managing systems that apply, extend, or enhance existing IT architecture.
Additionally, you will need to apply advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to accomplish assignments such as developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency.
You must also be able to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and be willing to work uncommon tours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet mission requirements.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing project management principles, methods, and practices.
- Experience designing, developing, and managing systems that apply, extend, or enhance existing IT architecture.
- Ability to apply advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to accomplish assignments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
