Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
As a key member of the SRS Road Maintenance team, your responsibilities include promoting a safety culture, supporting team operations, ensuring cost-effective and timely maintenance services, adhering to the VPS code of conduct, role modelling positive behaviours, providing emergency response, assisting maintenance teams across Victoria, and striving for continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in the role the ideal candidate will be executing project tasks related to Roads, Roadside, and Structures inspection, routine maintenance, and safe operation of equipment. It requires adherence to Traffic Management Plans and established policies, with prioritization based on urgency and impact. The individual should demonstrate foundational skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to policies and guidelines. Additionally, they should contribute to team capability development by sharing knowledge and identifying areas for personal improvement.
Personal Attributes
On a personal level the candidate will be required to apply flexibility and adaptability, accepting changed priorities without discomfort and responding quickly to changes. The individual should be comfortable collaborating with teams outside their organization. Additionally, foundational skills in working collaboratively are essential, involving cooperation, sharing information, acknowledging others' efforts, and willingness to help when needed.

Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Current Medium Rigid truck licence
- Current licences and tickets in plant operation; traffic management, chainsaw and first aid, construction induction card.
- Construction Induction White Card
- Working knowledge of computer tablets / mobile devices.
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- Understanding of Asset Maintenance Management Systems
- Strong knowledge of the Road Management Plan
- Strong understanding of Maintenance Specification Section 750
