Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

- Effectively lead a team involved in providing expert transport and safety advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance movement and place making aligned with business objectives and strategies.
- Apply creative and advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex road safety issues in line with the safe system approach including promoting innovative ways to address behavioural issues and applying principles-based decision making.
- Apply well developed specialist skills to drive customer focused outcomes by understanding the needs of our stakeholders and emerging issues while delivering a service that is responsive and aligned with key road safety policies and transport strategies.
- Negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders on transport and road safety matters to meet their objectives and to build strong relationships while also representing DTP’s interests.
- Exercise independent judgement to manage the team in accordance with business area planning activities including financial management and resource management activities.
- In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities
