Airport Operations Manager Job Description
Air traffic controllers play a vital role in ensuring the safe takeoff and landing of aircraft at airports. As an air traffic controller, you will be responsible for providing radar control to aircraft arriving or departing the primary airport and adjacent airports, as well as those transiting the facility's airspace.
About the Position:
- Manage radar and communication equipment to enforce radar separation standards and vectoring procedures.
- Analyze and resolve equipment malfunctions and interferences.
- Issue instructions to pilots to maintain proper aircraft separation, considering factors like speed, altitude, and direction.
- Provide air traffic advisory services to pilots, including clearances to operate aircraft, weather information, and safety and traffic notifications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the continuous operation of a facility or area when a supervisor is unavailable.
- Work closely with direct supervisors during initial assignments.
- Perform various tasks related to training, briefings, quality assurance, and staff support specialist duties.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 1959.
- A valid SF50 is mandatory.
- Designated or Random Drug Testing is necessary.
- A current medical certificate is required.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Specialized Experience: Must have been facility rated or area certified in an ATO terminal/en route facility.
- Must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Salary Range:
The estimated salary range for this position is between $62,400 and $175,000 per year, dependent on experience and location.
