Under the supervision of a Utility Craftsworker Supervisor, this position performs work consisting of the inspection, alteration, repair, new construction, and maintenance of large hydro facilities such as dams, hydroelectric generating and pumping plants, 230 kV switchyards, spillways, aqueducts, water control gates, water measuring devices, levee systems, reservoirs, security systems, and fish hatcheries. Requires operation of hand tools, power tools, and chain saws and knowledge of soils, earthwork hydraulics, machine shop practices, and rigging. Operates, services, and makes minor repairs to heavy equipment used for maintenance of embankments, dams, levees, drainage systems, debris clearing, and access roads. This position is located in Oroville, CA. Work is on-site to support the State Water Project.

Special Requirements

Successfully complete all safety training related to the functions of the job. Must possess a valid California Class A driver's license with appropriate endorsements or obtain such license within 90 days of hire. This is a sensitive position and is subject to substance abuse testing set forth in California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) Regulations 599.960-599.966. This is also a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Federal DOT alcohol and substance abuse testing requirements (including random testing) as set forth in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Telework is not an option.
