About the position:
The Department Analyst will function as a resource responsible for interacting with internal and external teams as needed to complete Business Unit functions and support the office. This analyst will serve as the division-wide training coordinator for all the MPSCS through researching, implementing, and coordinating training programs for the various work areas. This position carries out a wide range of professional research and analysis assignments to support the overall mission of the MPSCS. This position will also serve the MPSCS storytelling content writer through internal and external communications by developing and drafting key communications through editorial content, press releases, and other communication forums. This role will also serve as the MPSCS staffing specialist through onboarding and offboarding processes and procedures, security controls and systems access points, security audits, background checks, recruiting efforts, and a variety of other staffing related responsibilities and requests.
Position Location: This position is located in Dimondale, MI. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Candidates selected for this position must complete the Michigan State Police background check. This extensive background check requires fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records. Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
