Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Science Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of a chemistry teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced teacher with the following characteristics:
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
- Has knowledge of high school level chemistry curriculum and NGSS Standards;
- Has knowledge of state standards regarding the use and disposal of lab chemicals and proper lab safety protocols;
- Has the ability to communicate and collaborate with peers effectively as sharing of lab space and materials is often required;
- Ability to set up and facilitate labs in a safe way to ensure that students are safe;
- The ideal candidate will have their secondary teaching licensure/certificate;
- A solid foundation in Google Classroom or other technology applications is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Chemistry
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
MA/MS or MEd preferred
