The Highlights:
 
In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, the Assistant Volleyball Coach will assist in administering the progress and success of the intercollegiate women’s volleyball program within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University. This includes all pre-season, in-season and post-season activities necessary to the development of a nationally competitive team.  Successful candidates share a commitment to celebrating the diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences of the DePaul Athletics’ community both on and off the field. 

What You'll Do:

  • Pre-season, in-season and post-season activities necessary to the development of a nationally competitive team. Assist in coordinating the evaluation, recruitment, preparation, and development of all student-athletes. Such evaluation and recruitment activities may include but are not limited to identifying, contacting, and recruiting prospective student-athletes by phone, mail, and other forms of correspondence; traveling to various locations throughout Chicago and across the country to meet and evaluate in person prospective student-athletes. 
  • Assist in all aspects of preparation and development of women’s volleyball athletes. Such activities may include but are not limited to planning practice sessions, video analysis of performance, providing feedback, and encouraging positive performance. 
  • Operation of yearly volleyball camps and clinics on campus and coordinate all team travel in a manner that reflects fiscally responsible University resource management. 
  • Assist in alumni outreach events and all other events related to growing the DePaul Athletics brand. Such activities may include but are not limited to planning alumni events, engaging alumni and fans, attending other sporting events, and participating in community outreach events. Drive the coordination of messaging and branding on DePaul Volleyball social media outlets in accordance with university and departmental guidelines.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and procedures pertaining to women's volleyball.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise student 1 to 2 student managers including scheduling, training, consistent evaluation, and payroll. 
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Annual NCAA Recruiting certification required
  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of training volleyball student-athletes
  • Proven volleyball playing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs
  • Knowledge and practice related to relevant video and statistical analysis software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative, and integrity
  • A working knowledge of NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics
  • Position requires working evening, weekend, and holiday hours during academic year
  • Travel during recruiting and with team during season 
The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $40,149 to $60,000.
 
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
