What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Advisor position at DePaul University?
The Highlights :
Reporting to the Associate Director of Advising, the Academic Advisor delivers academic advising services to new and continuing CDM students and provides support to new and existing programs and services within the CDM Academic Success Center. The Academic Advisor is a generalist with knowledge of all CDM programs and will also be assigned a student caseload from similar program areas with whom the advisor will work more closely.
What You'll Do :
- Supports faculty advising and provides academic advising and administrative services to continuing CDM students including, but not limited to :
Academic curriculum review and course sequence planning.
Provides academic advising and supports retention efforts for special student populations, including online learning students.
Academic progress assessment.
Helps students utilize DePaul and CDM online academic management tools.
Review of DePaul and transfer institution transcripts.
Referral to University resources.
University policy interpretation and assistance with the petition processes related to policy exceptions.
New student orientation
Academic probation
Degree conferral process
Academic advising week
Academic success and career workshops
Commencement ceremony
Family weekend
Open houses
Student recognition events

The anticipated hiring range for this position is : $42,679.00 to $51,000.00.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
