Position Description:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and managing the organization's content marketing strategies. This position plays a pivotal role in crafting compelling and impactful content across various channels and platforms to raise awareness, engage audiences, support fundraising, and promote the mission of the agency. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure consistent and effective communication. Primary responsibilities include:
- Create and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with DePelchin Children's Center's goals and brand identity.
- Develop high-quality, engaging, and relevant content including articles, blog posts, social media posts, videos, infographics, and more.
- Utilize various channels, including social media, website, email marketing, and more, to effectively distribute content.
- Manage and maintain social media accounts, creating and scheduling posts that align with the content strategy and engage the target audience.
- Work closely with Advancement team as well as direct response, digital marketing, and public relations partners to align content efforts with overall marketing campaigns and initiatives.

- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with prominent news and radio stations to maximize event exposure and coverage, driving increased attendance and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field.
- Proven experience in content creation, copywriting, and content marketing.
- Experience in the nonprofit or child welfare sector is a plus.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content distribution tactics.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and social media management tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of design principles and multimedia content creation.
- Environment: Hybrid - Office
- Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
- Travel: Local (Requires a valid Texas Driver License and maintain auto liability insurance)
