Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated effectively.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and client preferences.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities as appropriate.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Support hospice care initiatives when required, ensuring dignity and comfort for clients nearing end-of-life stages.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of care provided.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and meal preparation techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility assistance.
