Direct Support professionals (DSP's) work with individuals with disabilities to help them gain skills and more independence in areas such as communication, cooking, housekeeping, budgeting, personal safety, health, and recreation.
The DSP Sub is like a float position. Subs will work at various home locations across the Twin Cities Metro with a variety of individuals during a day. Subs allow us to maintain coverage and maintain high service standards with individuals. This position is compensated competitively. Travel time and mileage reimbursement is available for trips with individuals into the community as well as between houses if working at multiple houses during a day.
DSP Sub availabilities needed/ openings below
- Sub 1 Empire Group:
Saturday, Sunday 8am-2pm OR 2pm-10pm (PT)
- Sub 2 Union Group:
Monday-Friday 11am-8pm and E/O Weekend 9am-3pm (FT)
Location: Multiple locations across Twin Cities Metro- Similar to a float
Rate of Pay: $23/hour for full-time; $20/hour for part-time
Will be working with male and female individuals requiring all levels of care, including personal cares. Must be okay with cats and dogs, as well as taking individuals inside churches of primarily Christian or Catholic faith/practices.
DSP SUB MUST HAVE:
- Have a valid driver's license, insurance, reliable vehicle to drive to locations across the twin cities

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 year's of relevant work experience
- Driver's License, car insurance, reliable vehicle for work purposes
- Ability to read, write and speak English at a level that meets the performance requirements; or must be able to communicate in the language spoken by the individual at a level that meets the performance requirements; whichever is deemed more important by the company
- Ability to meet licensing requirements of the state and county
- Lifting/transferring requirements vary based on assigned caseload. Ability to lift 75 pounds and transfer individuals as needed
- May be exposed to animals, including but not limited to dogs, cats, pet rodents, birds or pet reptiles
- Experience working with individuals who are prone to challenging behaviors
- Must be comfortable performing personal cares with all types of individuals
Salary : $20 - $23
