Privately owned small healthcare businesses. We are looking for a reliable Front Office/Medical Assistant to join our team. The applicant, on occassion, may be offered/assigned a shift at our Niagara Falls and Lockport locations. Shifts will typically be Mon-Fri between 8 am and 6 pm with the occasional Saturday shift.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely manner as well as navigate the EMR application and other applications/websites
- Strong Ability to maintain effective relationships with colleagues & patients
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and administrative duties as part of patient care management
- Interview patient regarding reason for visit
- Conduct patient chart preparation
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical and cognitive tests (blood pressure, height, weight, pulse etc)
- Perform point of care testing, collect lab specimens, as appropriate
- Manage incoming documents and assist with the completion of forms
- Verify patient information, confirming purpose of visit & updating records
- Complete prior authorizations for medication and imaging services
- Answer phones and route communication appropriately & schedule appointments
- Document patient interaction on the EMR system in a timely & accurate manner
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies, stock, and clean exam rooms
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures
- Assist with examination and in-office treatment by handing providers instruments and materials
- Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization
- Perform other duties assigned by management
