This job opportunity is for services to be performed under a contract with the federal government Office of Refugee Resettlement.

The Youth Care Worker (Bilingual English / Spanish) is responsible for ensuring all youth safety in their care according to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policy and always maintaining line-of-sight.

Essential Functions :

  • Provide care and services to youth, ages 13-17
  • Direct care and monitoring of youth, ensuring to maintain a line-of-sight for assigned of youth
  • Support with the delivery of educational services based on age appropriateness
  • Engage in recreational and leisure activities with youth
  • Collaborate with other providers on behavioral management policies and protocols
  • Incorporate access to services related to culture, language, and religious observations
  • Ensure the physical safety of youth
  • Provide same gender supervision for any area where youth regularly undress, including restrooms and showers in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to document processes and perform recordkeeping
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish
  • Patience, tolerance, and kindness
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a 24 / 7 / 365 business environment
  • Education and Experience :

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year' experience working with children and / or adolescents in some capacity
  • Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds is a plus
  • First Aid Certified, required. Note : Training will be provided to earn your CPR & First Aid certification if needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have resided in the continental U.S. the last 3 consecutive years (full time)
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
  • Must pass a motor vehicle record check and employer and government (eQIP or eAPP) background checks after accepting a conditional offer of employment
  • Preferred pre-hire qualifications with monetary incentive :

  • Fully vetted background status (investigation and adjudication) through federal government eQIP or eAPP process, to include :
  • Valid ORR Tier Two adjudication;

  • Childcare adjudication; AND
  • Child Abuse and Neglect (CA / N) check clearance
  • Bonus available for immediate satisfaction of vetting qualification upon hire, subject to verification and payout after 30 continuous days of service

    Relocation package available if qualified
