Job Duties
ESH invites applications for the position of the Communications Operator.
The Communications Operator provides a customer service oriented central reception function for the hospital that disseminates routine and emergency incident information 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. This position mobilizes emergency services and personnel in response to crises involving life or property.
Successful candidate should possess:
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs, online and computer data entry.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally & written.
- Ability to use a multi-line telephone system.
- Ability to be flexible an able to work rotating shifts as well as weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
- Ability to act in the capacity of essential personnel during emergency/crisis situations.
- Possess a strong work ethic & team player mentality.
Shift: Rotating (to include weekends and holidays)
NOTE: This position requires availability for all three shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
Multiple positions may be hired from this posting.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in the utilization of the Microsoft Office Suite, online and computer data entry.
Experience using multi-line telephone systems, and various office equipment.
Experience using two-way radio equipment.
Experience providing customer service.
Able to work Rotating shifts to include weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
NOTE: This position requires availability for all three shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
Additional Considerations
Experience working in a medical setting.
Experience monitoring fire alarm systems.
Experience in dispatching/law enforcement
