Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Admissions Processor for the Reimbursement Office located at Western State Hospital. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing admissions for Western State Hospital, a 300-bed facility, Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents a 48-bed facility and Catawba Hospital, a 110-bed facility. Such support work includes verifying third party commercial insurance benefits and setting up pre-authorization in addition to verifying Medicare and Medicaid benefit eligibility for approximately 2,000 admissions per year. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining electronic Reimbursement patient files for each admission.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of verifying third party commercial insurance.
- Experience with insurance authorizations.
- Knowledge and experience with entering patient data into various systems.
- Experience with maintaining electronic files (importing and exporting files).
