Job Duties
Eastern State Hospital, located in scenic Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
Eastern State Hospital invites qualified applicants for the position of Trades Technician III.
This position is required to work Evenings (4AM to 12AM Weekdays).
This position reports to the Trades Manager for providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. This position conducts general maintenance for the Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical shops by repairing and maintaining properly functioning equipment. PMs and WO Repairs for Retherm and Ice Machines with ability to act in the capacity of essential personnel during emergency/crisis situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and schematics.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of plumbing, and electrical, equipment and maintenance methods pertinent to the general building maintenance field.
Additional Considerations
General knowledge of; plumbing, electrical, carpentry skills, general knowledge of HVAC systems is helpful but not required.

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
