Job Duties
Disability Determination Services’ objective is to provide accurate, timely, efficient and cost- effective evaluations of medical and vocational evidence related to claims filed by citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia for benefits under Title II, Title XVI, and Title XIX of the Social Security Act. These evaluations result in the adjudication or “determination” of claims at the initial claims stage, at the continuing disability review stage, and at other appellate points in the disability process.
We are seeking an DDS IT Manager to supervise IT personnel providing network and computer support services so adjudicators can reach their customer service objectives.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performance Management: Utilizes the 5 tenets of performance management to maximize the job performance of others.
- Leadership Team: Serves on the agency/division leadership team.
- System management: Directs Information Technology Activities.
- Administration Management - Security Manager.
- Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Skills:
- Considerable experience managing projects, contracts and managing general administrative functions, including information systems and procurement.
- Considerable knowledge of business management, procurement and personnel. Considerable knowledge of administrative policies and regulations, and of applicable federal, state and agency policies.
- Considerable knowledge of a wide range of PC and network-based applications and systems. Training in business administration, public administration or a combination of work and training resulting in the above listed knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to direct a variety of administrative functions across several organizational units; ability to plan, review and evaluate administrative operations and resources; to analyze and interpret needs; and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to translate federal, state, agency, IT, sponsors, stakeholders and other regulatory agency policies, regulations, plans, requirements, standards, laws, procedures, etc. into automated or manual systems, applications, and procedures.
