We are seeking an VIB Assistant Supervisor- Norfolk ServMart.
- The purpose of the position is responsible for the implementation of the goals and objectives of VIB by leading the day-to-day operations of the Norfolk ServMart team.
- This position is responsible for supervision, staffing, procurement, receiving, stocking, inventory management, merchandising, transactional purchases, and overall operational efficiency of the location. This is a subcontracted, commercial contract position.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience -
- Supervisory or managerial experience.
- General Warehousing and or retail experience.
- Customer Service experience
- Independent decision-making experience
- Experienced with Point-of-Sale Systems.
Skills/Abilities-
- Ability to function in a fast paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to operate a personal computer with or without adaptive technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Critical Thinking skills to be able to use logic and reason to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing business needs.
- Ability to listen and respond to customer service request while maintaining accurate records.
- Able to lift and carry 30 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend and lift in a repetitive manner throughout the workday.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Able to stand six to eight hours.
- Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.
Additional Considerations:
- Training or retail experience working in a military or Federal Government environment.

Employment is contingent upon the selected candidate being able to pass a background check required for access to the Base.
