Job Duties
Position oversees the maintenance, operation and repair of motor fleet. Conducts training programs in the maintenance, proper usage, and adherence to safety standard for all vehicles, equipment and tools. Inspects or arranges for the inspection of all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Maintains inventory through planning and purchasing, and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS). May be required to supervise and direct the work of inmates.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to repair and provide maintenance on vehicles. Demonstrated ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule work, interpret manuals, and communicate effectively. Knowledge of repair, maintenance techniques, and shop management. Skill in use of all related hand and power tools and equipment to service and maintain gasoline and diesel vehicles/equipment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a variety of logs and records. Demonstrated ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs. Demonstrated ability to interpret all related manuals. High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License.
Additional Considerations
Experience in automotive repair dealing with gasoline/diesel powered equipment repair. Skills in the operation of computerized diagnostics/techniques and power tools. Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Experience using Total Maintenance System (TMS). Experience providing training/guidance to others. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook or preventative maintenance programs.
