Job Duties

To provide management for the production of metal furniture, office systems, and seating, and the leadership of staff to positively impact customer satisfaction and to achieve plant and industry objectives for profitability, quality products, inmates' development, and accurate and complete orders delivered on time.

Probationary Period: If hired by VCE you will start or restart a 12-month probationary period. This is for all New Hires, Transfers, returning State Employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to work independently to motivate others attain production goals. Ability to effectively communicate with others to achieve production goals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to make technical recommendations, develop job specifications and quality standards. Ability to work independently in complex work situations and under the pressure of tight deadlines and manage safe work practices. Ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team in the production and quality of manufactured goods under the pressure of tight deadlines. Supervisory experience in Document Conversion and Optical Lens production or other high volume manufacturing setting. Demonstrated leadership experience in communication and problem resolution. Experience in quality programs and production floor quality improvement initiatives.

Additional Considerations

Considerable proficiency in metal furniture, office systems, and seating manufacturing, equipment operation, and quality controls. Proficiency with MRP/ERP system or other manufacturing specialty applications. Certification in Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other quality program certification. Considerable experience in metal, office systems, and seating furniture production.
