This position is designed as Hybrid (In office and Remote).

The Department of Disability and Aging supports people to live the lives they envision for themselves by ensuring people can exercise rights, engage with the community and experience optimal health. At DDA, we are responsible for administration and oversight of services and supports for more than 1.5 million older adults and Tennesseans with disabilities.

Job Overview:

This classification is responsible for performing assessment and review of the quality of services being delivered to Tennesseans with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, those that are physically disabled, and/or the aged that are members of the 1915c and 1115 HCBS waiver programs. This is the starting level in the Quality Reviewer series. This class differs from DDA Quality Reviewer 2 in that the incumbent of the latter performs lead work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead surveyor and other supporting surveyors on the team to ensure that provider performance for each assigned survey is completed according to established procedures and timeframes.
  • Ensure that people receiving services in the 1915c and 1115 waivers that are included in provider survey samples are provided the opportunity to give feedback and their perspectives are captured in order to accurately assess the quality of services being delivered to them.
  • Ensure each Recurrent and/or Consultative survey is accurately assessed according to DDA expectations/requirements for each assigned Quality Topic and Indicator.
  • Ensure that for each survey assigned, post-survey activities are completed as assigned and according to the established time frames.
  • Ensure provider performance for each assigned Individual Record Review (IRR) is accurately assessed and documented for each applicable indicator.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: psychology, social science, human science, or behavior science.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Professional experience working directly with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or the aging population for a minimum of four years may be substituted for the requirement of a bachelor's degree.
