Job Duties

Performance Management & Supervisory Duties
Expectations are clear, well communicated, and related to the goals and objectives of the department or unit. Staff receives frequent, constructive feedback, including interim
evaluations as appropriate. The requirements of the performance planning and evaluation system are met, and evaluations are completed by established deadlines with proper documentation.
Encourage a safer work environment and reduction in work related and non-work-related employee lost time. Supervises the maintenance of satisfactory work conditions.
Directs and coordinates the function of subordinates.
Delegate’s sufficient authority and responsibility to each position, according to the scope of that position.

Patient Care
Sees that physical facilities, equipment and supplies are present to render adequate patient care. Authorizes improved methods of patient care and directs their application.

Nursing Service
Performs a continuous analysis and evaluation of the nursing services rendered. Establishes and carries out effective communications within the nursing department. Establishes standards of coverage for 24 hours, 7 days a week in all nursing departments and approves necessary changes. Defines purposes of nursing service in accordance with the facility’s philosophy and interprets purpose to nursing staff. Selects, appoints, promotes and discharges the members of the nursing service. Defines duties and establishes the general pattern of delegated authority and responsibility.

Records/Reports Sets up and maintains only those records and reports required in nursing service and related activities.

Policies Initiates nursing service policies and maintains general policies. Aides in the establishment of personnel policies which will assure reasonable hours of work, adequate number, security of tenure and acceptable working conditions.

Other Duties
All other duties assigned by the Administrator.

May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be in good physical and emotional health sufficient to permit full performance of the duties of the position. Must have initiative, drive and courage. Must be interested in fostering positive relationships with all customers. Must be able to work under a great deal of pressure and to make rapid decisions.

Additional Considerations

**The Hiring Range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000. We will not be able to negotiate outside of this range**
