The brand-new Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center (JCVCC) is named after two distinguished war heroes. Air Force Colonel William A. Jones III of Norfolk was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in Vietnam. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher F. Cabacoy of Virginia Beach was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan. This center honors their service to the Nation and the Commonwealth.
JCVCC is nestled in an ideal location in the Princess Anne section of Virginia Beach on a 25-acre site adjacent to Nimmo Parkway (extended), West Neck Rd, and N. Landing Rd (Google Map).
This Veterans Care Center was built to serve our Veterans in need of Long-Term Care, Memory Care and Skilled Rehabilitation in Hampton Roads and throughout Virginia. The pristine facility is state of the art with immaculate outside landscaping including a walking path surrounding multiple ponds and first-class amenities such as a spacious community center and rehabilitation gym.
JCVCC was designed using the household model with the concept of being a "city in itself." The 128-bed facility is organized into communities (64 beds), with two neighborhoods (32 beds). Each neighborhood includes two households (16 beds) with adjoined access to a courtyard. The households feature all private rooms each with its own bathroom and walk in shower as well as a spacious dining room, kitchenette, and dayroom. This person-centered approach creates a true sense of community and home, which supports providing our Veteran residents the opportunity to have as good or better quality of life than before they came to us.
This is a state position with excellent health care and retirement benefits. We are committed to all of our employees having a great work/life balance.
