Role Purpose: Responsible for month end close and reporting. Assists in the maintenance of the general ledger, financial statement preparation and account reconciliations. Conducts margin analysis. Performs journal entry preparation/entry and balance sheet reconciliations.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Basic arithmetic skills including percentages, tables, ratio and bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills including capacity to apply reasoning and abstract analysis. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, Power Point and related software. SAP is preferred

Key Responsibilities:
- Month end accounting close and reporting financial results.
- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- Roconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Completion of numerous journal entries as required for month-end.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
- Review & verification of GAAP control requirements including reconciliation of all accounts.
- Development of standard costing systems to enhance accuracy of financial controls over operational variances and profitability analysis of commercial sales opportunities.
- Prepare year end annual accounts, periodic tax packs, and any other Walterscheid Powertrain Group reporting requirements.
- Prepare budget & forecast schedules.
- Support external year-end audit and internal Walterscheid Powertrain Group audit requirements.
- All other duties as assigned
- SAP is preferred
- B.S. degree in Finance / Accounting and five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
