Summary

The incumbent serves as the Business Continuity Program (BCP) Manager for the Infrastructure Operations (IO). The BCP Manager is a member of Infrastructure Operations Division. The BCP Manager is also a member of IO's Crisis Control Team. The incumbent will formulate IO business continuity strategy, propose policies in support of that strategy, and design business processes to implement appropriate policies.

    Duties assigned but not limited to :

  • IT Business Continuity
  • DR Plan Coordination : The Staff Member will collaborate with IO pillars and the DR Training and Compliance team to ensure comprehensive and regularly tested Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.
  • Coordination of IO DR Tests : The Staff Member will coordinate and participate in DR tests alongside IO pillars and the DR Training and Compliance team to verify the effectiveness of continuity plans.
  • Disaster Mitigation and Recovery
  • Coordination of IO Systems and Services during VAMC or Facility Maintenance : The Staff Member will provide coordination for changes affecting IO systems and services impacted during facility power and HVAC maintenance to minimize disruptions to operations to mitigate potential issues.
  • Development of Communication Channels : Establish and maintain communication channels between IO and other organizations and VAMCs to facilitate efficient information exchange during emergencies.
  • Develop Root Cause Matrix : Work with Operations Triage Group (OTG) to build a detailed common root cause matrix to expeditiously resolve repeat incidents.
  • Shutdown / Startup Sequences : Develop and document shutdown and startup sequences for IO equipment to ensure safe and efficient procedures during emergencies.
  • Guidance During Critical Issues : Provide expert guidance during critical incidents to suggest courses of action for disaster mitigation, assist IO pillar teams with implementation and restoration efforts, and coordinate cross-organization efforts.
  • Emergency Site Travel : If necessary, staff member will travel to the site of an emergency to provide on-site support, coordination, and leadership as required
  • Conducting full business continuity analysis for all levels of the organization. For the EO as a whole, for each major business function, and for each critical system, the BCP Manager assures that all business impact analysis, continuity strategy development, plan creation (emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, and business resumption), BC training and plan maintenance.
  • Performing Contractor Representative (COR) duties for the IO's disaster recovery services contracts. The BCP Manager is responsible within the scope of his or her delegation for the management for all BCP support contracts.   • Must possess the following : System Administrator Experience, including Windows, Linux, Cloud, Virtualization, Backup, LAN and WAN networking, Datacenter Management skills, Server Cabinet Power and cooling, also have familiarity with Enterprise Datacenter Monitoring tools
