FUNCTION
The Food Server is responsible for ensuring that all guests have a memorable dining experience in the various bars. They also serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the gaming floor. Each team member ensures that the dining areas are clean and organized and the restaurant is ready on time every day to ensure that every guest is well taken care of in a fine-dining environment. Team Members also maintain the beverage station for organization, stocking, and cleanliness.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for taking orders from guests and returning orders promptly.
- Ensures dining area is clean and orderly at all times.
- Responsible for performing “responsible alcohol service” with regard to guest limitations and passing any/all responsible alcohol service training, if needed.
- Guest banking all dining room checks.
- Cleans and polishes tableware of spots and pre-busses.
- Delivers and dispenses items ordered by guests and serves beverages, food, and non-food items.
- Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel and works effectively with others.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations.
- Available to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Uses Point of Sale equipment to enter orders for all food and beverages
- Uses equipment such as coffee brewers, iced tea makers, and juice and soda.
- Must bus tables promptly to accommodate new business
- Is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively.
- Must work with communication devices such as telephones and policy systems.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
- Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills regarding working with diverse people and levels of authority.
- All internal and external guests must be treated in a manner to ensure complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to navigate stairs and being on your feet for 8 hours.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of wines, alcohol, and basic food is preferred.
- 6 months prior work experience is preferred.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky racing license.
