Acupuncture Clinic Office Manager
Compensation: Hourly, Commensurate with experience
Commitment: 20-25hrs per week, long-term commitment highly preferred (1 year )
We are looking for the right candidate to help part-time with office management and billing at Derby Ho Acupuncture. Derby Ho offers therapeutic and sports acupuncture in a peaceful, bespoke setting in Culver City. Hours will range from 20-25 hours a week, depending on office needs and new team member availability.
The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with standard healthcare office administration and patient billing, as well as medical insurance claims filing and reimbursement processes. Candidate should have a relatively flexible schedule and be willing to commit to the role for at least one year.

Responsibilities:
- Clerical tasks, e.g., receive and direct phone calls, schedule and manage appointments, check-in & check-out patients, process payments, etc.
- Obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patient
- Liaise with insurance companies to verify insurance benefits and coverage as accurately as possible, and relay to patients
- Handle medical billing process, including: filing claims using electronic clearinghouses, recording remittances accurately, working with insurance companies to correct payment issues
- Communicate warmly and efficiently with patients via email, text message, and phone
- Complete monthly A/R review to make sure patient and insurer payments are up-to-date
- Prepare examination rooms and manage inventory of supplies
- Organize the office and evaluate workflow/processes to improve efficiency, as needed
- Use "back-office" computer systems (EHR/EMR software, practice management software)
Required Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner (written and verbal)
- Must have technical computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite, and be comfortable with learning new software
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- High school diploma or GED required, additional education in healthcare or business a plus
- Must live within easy commuting distance of our office at 4220 Overland Ave in Culver City
Preferred Skills:
- Medical billing and/or clinic administration experience highly preferred
- Experience with practice management software like Jane or Unified Practice highly preferred
- Interest in learning about acupuncture practices, medical administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Interest in patient care and examination procedures
- At least 1 year of office or office work experience
