MCASP GRANT COORDINATOR : Derby Public Schools is seeking an MCASP Grant Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year. Employee benefits include uncategorized PTO and paid parental leave. Salary is based on experience and education : $65,000 - $75,000

The regular grant coordinator contract is currently 246 days.

Grant Coordinator

Job Description

Purpose : Provide leadership, supervision and assistance in the development, interpretation and evaluation of grant funded programs ensuring the availability of grant funding to support district mission.

Responsible to : Assistant Superintendent / Curriculum & Instruction

Salary : Annual contract, hourly rate, 12 months

Classification of Employment : Exempt

Date : February 2013

Qualifications :

1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college / university.

2. Successful administrative or supervisory experience is desirable.

3. Competence in communication skills and good personal relationships with all members of the school district and community.

4. Possess a conceptual understanding of education processes and the teacher's role within the public educational environment.

Essential Functions :

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

a. Seek out grant funded opportunities.

b. Direct the coordination, planning, and implementation of grants.

c. Write and submit grant proposals to appropriate funding sources and requested supporting data.

d. Assure all grant applications are aligned with the District's Mission and appropriate school improvement plans.

e. Assure all required evaluation components are met.

f. Search for state, federal or private funding.

g. Review additional funding sources and make recommendations to the Board of Education.

h. Work with staff in developing grants to meet needs of programs.

i. Ensure all grants conform to district policy / guidelines.

j. Support the value of an education.

k. Support the philosophy and mission of Derby Public Schools.

l. Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions

a. Requires the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

b. Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry pull or push heavy objects or materials.

c. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and reach.

d. Requires the ability to occasionally travel.

e. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.

f. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.

g. Must be able to work long and irregular hours.

h. Requires regular attendance and / or physical presence at the job.

General Responsibilities :

1. Inform, interpret and provide to the board, information associated with all programs assigned.

2. Serve as the district contact person for grants.

3. Meet with staff to discuss program needs, program implementation, and program monitoring.

4. Prepare all reports and application renewals with the assistance of appropriate staff.

5. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements of the various agencies.

6. Communicate effectively with students, staff and community.

7. Maintain directory of funding sources from local, state, and national agencies.

8. Assist with locating resources for grant development.

9. Assist staff with developing grant proposals.

10. Assist staff with developing grant budgets.

11. Maintain procedural guidelines to assist staff in grant writing process.

12. Assist with overseeing that grants are received where designated.

13. Assume final responsibility for the writing of all proposals and the filing of all applications.

14. Serve as the district's liaison with outside agencies to establish or administer grant programs in which district schools / students are eligible to participate.

15. Adhere to all district health and safety.

16. Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent / Curriculum & Instruction which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
