What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Director position at Derby Recreation Commission?
Who We Are Looking For :
The Director of Marketing leads marketing and communication efforts for the Derby Recreation Commission. The Marketing Director is considered a part of the core leadership team and will participate in creating and executing the vision and mission of the DRC. The Marketing Director will promote not only the huge array of programs and services the DRC has to offer but also the people and personalities that make it all succeed. The DRC is a conglomeration of business and service roles and the successful Marketing Director will be able to balance competing marketing needs within an effective and consistent overall marketing strategy. The DRC is fully integrated with our government and community partners and the Marketing Director will play a key role in developing and nurturing those relationships. What Winning Looks Like As Our Director of Marketing :
- Works with staff to develop an organization wide marketing plan to maximize participation. Develops timelines to promote yearlong and session marketing initiatives.
- Recruits annual sponsors for DRC programs and advertising. Program includes consistent practices for acknowledging and thanking sponsors.
- Produces quarterly program guide for mass production, using acrobat InDesign.
- Oversees social media strategy and implementation. Manages various social media platforms to promote the DRC and works in the Xplor Recreation platform.
- Produces materials utilized by programmers for promotion of events and programs, including flyers, signage and other communications.
- Reviews organization practices and implements a system to ensure all material produced by the DRC is consistent in format and message.
- Promotes DRC memberships and programs to potential users, both individual and corporate.
- Produces DRC annual reports and Aquatic Park annual report.
- Develops emails for members, newsletters and promotions.
- Develops marketing plans for new programs.
- Recruits other organizations to use DRC and / or City of Derby facilities.
- Manages and maintains a current website and DerbyRecGo app and develops content in a timely manner.
- Serves on the Community Marketing Committee and KRPA Marketing Committee along with various other local entities.
- Promotes organizational branding, whereby all services and materials provided by the DRC are clearly identified to users.
- Cooperates with program Director to ensure presentation of DRC programming is professional and provides customers with a quality experience.
- Documents DRC programs and special events with photos and video. Presents these materials to the media, the commission and other organizations to promote the quality of DRC services.
- Attends weekly Directors meeting and Monthly Board meetings.
