We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our Data Science team in Barcelona. As a Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced machine learning techniques and statistical analysis to optimize bidding strategies for major travel platforms like Google, TripAdvisor, and Trivago. You will work with a dynamic team to design, build, and deploy models that directly drive revenue for the world’s top travel brands.
What will you do?
Model Development: Design and implement machine learning algorithms that automate and optimize bidding on millions of requests across major metasearch platforms.
End-to-End Solutioning: Develop and deploy end-to-end optimization solutions, taking them from design through to production in cloud environments.
Performance Evaluation: Evaluate model performance using objective metrics, continuously improving through testing and refinement.
Business Integration: Work closely with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into data science solutions that drive business impact.
Collaboration: Work effectively within a cross-functional team to integrate data science models into production systems.
What do we need?
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 2 years of hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and optimization techniques.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong oral and written English communication skills to effectively explain complex technical concepts.
Our Preferences
- Background in travel or hospitality marketing.
- Advanced Education: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Software Engineering Skills: Experience with software development best practices and working with Docker or similar containerization tools would be ideal.
Cloud Expertise: Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms is a plus.
Big Data Tools: Familiarity with managing large datasets using tools such as Hadoop or Hive is a plus.
Digital Media Advertising: Experience in digital media advertising is a plus.
