Job Summary
The Solutions Engineer is responsible for the initiation, design, and project management of design of new customers or complex pairings. The Solutions Engineer will liaise with engineering team at a technical level to ensure solutions are built according to customer needs and expectations. Manages communication with the customer during the design phase of implementation projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery of completed work.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Discovery of customer’s critical business needs and technical requirements for designing solutions to be implemented for customer connections.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of efficient solutions that meet the business needs of customers as well as DerbySoft.
- Participation in and assistance with sales process and closure.
- Analyze requirements against industry best practices in order to design and implement enterprise-level solutions that meet business needs and align with DerbySoft’s strategic and technical vision.
- Follow established methodology to complete project deliverables on all assigned tasks within established deadlines, including all required documentation such as design documentation, technical specifications, and test plans
- Utilize technical/application skills within functional/project area and with stakeholders to critically identify and communicate opportunities for business process optimization.
- Collaborate with customers, Project Managers and team members to ensure the solution meets business objectives.
- Effectively communicate solution details with clear documentation.
- Learn new technologies and techniques in a team environment to be able to provide cutting edge solutions to customers.
- Industry awareness - continually seeking industry and market information to provide DerbySoft with information necessary for successful business development.
Experience and Skills:
- Qualifications – Technology literate with ability to learn new systems quickly
- Three years experience in travel industry distribution in a technical application role.
- Skills – Technical, analytical and interpersonal skills needed.
Performance Standards:
- Must be capable of learning new applications from a technical standpoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral communications.
- Knowledge of travel industry distribution from both business and technology background.
- Activities are expected to be carried out with minor supervision.
- Ability to create big-picture software solutions.
- Ability to present ideas in a clean, user-friendly way.
- High attention to detail.
