*Position Purpose*
At DD, Physician Assistants (PA) have a pivotal role in delivering exceptional healthcare services, specializing in medical dermatology. Operating with independence, yet in close collaboration with dermatologists through a well-defined agreement, they perform comprehensive assessments, deliver treatments, perform procedures, guide patients, and prescribe medications.
Role and Responsibilities
- Independently assesses, diagnoses and treats patients under a collaborative agreement with a dermatologist.
- Identifies abnormal conditions through diagnostic tests and laboratory studies and interprets test results.
- Diligently documents patient care services, maintaining meticulous patient and department records.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required for patient care.
- Develops and executes patient management plans to ensure care continuity, in alignment with the collaborative agreement.
- Upholds a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to policies and protocols.
- Stays up to date with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, anticipating and adapting to future legislation as needed.
- Enhances professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, building personal networks, and actively participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to a collaborative team environment by achieving related results, as necessary.
- Provides cosmetic services if desired.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PA program.
- Current PA-C certification.
- Flexibility in working location is preferred.
