Job Title: Automation Engineer

The Automation Design Engineer is responsible for conceiving, developing, designing, implementing, and maintaining automated manufacturing systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical, electrical, and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Specify and integrate robotics, vision, and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate with automation technicians to assemble, test, and troubleshoot custom-built automation systems.
  • Work with design engineers to prepare cost estimates for automated manufacturing systems and research new manufacturing technologies.
  • Document and train manufacturing personnel on the use of custom-built automation systems.

Requirements:

  • Machine design using 3D CAD software.
  • PLC and HMI programming.
  • Electrical design and documentation.
  • Robotic application and programming.
  • Vision system design and programming.
  • Application of servo systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and program debugging skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
