Title: Automation Technician
Job Summary:
The automation technician serves as a build resource for DNI’s automation team and is charged with creation and maintenance of automation related machinery.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Automation Technician will be responsible for building and maintaining custom electro — mechanical systems. Critical responsibilities include precision assembly, basic manual machining (turning, milling, drilling, tapping of machine components), machine wiring, electrical panel layout and creation and electromechanical trouble shooting. Automation Technician will play a key role in the realization of one of a kind, custom manufacturing, and inspection equipment to meet the unique needs of company’s wide product range. To be successful, automation technicians should be willing to learn and collaborate with other team members.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform additional tasks as required such as:
- Train operators to run and maintain machinery.
- Serve as consultant to design Engineering for manufacturability of products.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Machining and fabrication abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude to assemble and debug complicated systems
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Electrical Panel layout and building.
- Machine wiring
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or technical certification/accreditation in manufacturing and/or machining
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
- Must be a team player who is well organized, with good communication skills, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
