Position Summary
The Senior Asset Management Analyst serves as the commercial relationship manager for partners, customers and other stakeholders. This role has the responsibility for routine and ad hoc analysis, implementing asset optimization strategies, and other financial or commercial assignments required to achieve company objectives.
Responsibilities include analyzing information from internal and external sources, developing major workstreams across the portfolio preparing and analyzing projects or markets, scenario modelling and communicating results to various stakeholders.
This person will be knowledgeable of Deriva's portfolio, renewable markets, and will be tasked with providing strategic analysis to maximize project profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong attributes for accuracy, will be highly detail oriented, will create and will help maintain a culture of continuous improvement based on the cornerstone of integrity and compliance.
Responsibilities
Development and execution of plans to optimize financial performance to support the overall performance of a portfolio of operating assets
Prepare data and scorecards that demonstrates value creation and plan progress
Maintain close working relationships with partners, customers and stakeholders
Negotiate settlements on disputes concerning PPAs and other stakeholders
Create and refine market and regulatory strategies
Lead or participate in special projects across Deriva including process improvement opportunities
This role supports strategic decision-making with respect to such assets, including hedging, operations and maintenance
This role identifies opportunities and analyzes the impact on company financials to maximize profitability
Strategically works with internal and external stakeholders to improve the generating asset profitability including optimization of asset interaction with energy markets
Monitors and conducts analysis on issues impacting operations and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement
Leads value-added projects such as supporting leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset optimization, restructurings, and building relationships with off-takers, and other key stakeholders
Create presentations for senior management
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with major in accounting, finance, economics or related discipline
Three (3) years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
Strong quantitative and qualitative data modeling skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in finance, business, accounting or other related disciplines
Professional designation such as CPA and/ or CFA
Understanding of the various ISO's and RTO's and their basic operations, the wholesale energy markets and products including Energy, Transmission and Capacity and experience using RTO data interface
Experience with complex power purchase agreements, VPPAs, and CFD
Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Adaptable and able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations, and with diverse individuals and groups.
Capable of conducting research on various topics and acquiring essential knowledge and skills independently.
Strong working knowledge of renewable energy markets
Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative.
Strong attention to detail and focused on achieving high quality results
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and foster good relationships with teammates and business partners.
Excellent written and oral communication skills

This position is located in Charlotte, NC
This is a hybrid position; employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated office location.
