Deriva Energy, a portfolio company of Brookfield Renewable U.S., who is a nationwide leader in sustainable energy provides wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services to over 1,000 projects across the U.S., with a total electric capacity of more than 5,100 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy is seeking a Traveling Wind Technician I, to be based in their Mt Pleasant Wind location.
Our Wind Technicians are a vital part of our organization, and we take pride in hiring and training the best in the industry. This is a full-time, permanent position with significant room for advancement. This is both the entry level and initial training level for the series. The hiring manager may elect to fill this position at the higher Wind Technician II Level dependent upon a candidate's skills and experience.
We are looking for a Traveling Wind Technician I to maintain all aspects of our customers turbines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.).
This is a traveling position with the Field service team, with 6 weeks on with 1 week off (unpaid).
Responsibilities :
- Always maintain a high level of safety awareness
- Climb heights 300 ft. and greater several times daily
- Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
- Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and perform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer
- Perform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
- Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Hazardous Energy Controls Procedures
- Perform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines
- Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation
- Maintaining all aspects (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient manner
- Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo
