What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Accounting and Human Resources position at Derive?
The Director of Accounting and Human Resources is responsible for maintaining the general accounting and human resources functions of the organization. Manages the accounting operations of the organization, including the production of internal & external financial reports, budgets and analyses, and assessment and implementation of adequate internal controls. Manages the policy, procedures and programs for a variety of human resource functions including recruitment and hiring, compensation, benefits, new-hire orientation and training, and employee relations. Responsibilities:
· Manage the organization’s accounting records and financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Work closely with accounting team.
· Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, review reconciliations and prepare financial reports for the owner & CFO, and external entities.
· Determine proper accounting and processing procedures and ensure compliance with internal controls across the organization.
· Directly responsible for the organization’s payroll, review accounts payable and billing/accounts receivable processes.
· Administer 401k plan including enrollment, participation, contributions, loans, preparation of annual census, submission of the 5500, and distribution of fee disclosure.
· Manage benefits and compensation.
· Ensure compliance with recruiting and hiring practices.
· Recruit new hires, conduct all facets of onboarding and exit interviews.
· Facilitate and participate in resolution of employee relations matters.
· Maintain personnel files, generate performance reviews, workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
· 5-10 years of experience in accounting and human resources management.

· Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, Salesforce; ADP Workforce Now; Data integration apps (DBSync or equivalent).
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
