Summary
The Lab Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Pathologists and Pathology Technologists in the laboratory. The assistant will perform a variety of tasks including preparing and processing tissue samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring the laboratory is clean and organized. Job Responsibilities
· Prepare and process tissue samples for analysis.
- Assist Pathologists and Pathology Technologists in laboratory procedures, including but not limited to sending cases out for 2nd opinions or IDCs and removing slides from IHC machines.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior experience working in a laboratory setting preferred.
· Ability to adhere to instructions and work independently.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to occasionally lift cases of slides or blocks that range from 15-20lbs.
· Ability to occasionally lift chemical supplies up to 30lbs.
