Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and be familiar with medical terminology, particularly in dermatology, cosmetic and surgical settings. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care in a supportive environment.
Full time: Must be able to start as early as 7:30am. 36-40 hours per week
Salary: Depending upon experience
Responsibilities
- Escort patient to exam room and assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and clinical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring rooms are fully stocked, clean. set up trays and ensure proper equipment availability.
- Prepare Path/Lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient's insurance plan
- Record patient medical histories and scribe visit notes accurately.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Clean and sterilize all equipment and instruments according to schedule.
- Must maintain HIPAA/ OSHA compliance, infection control and Blood Borne Pathogen standards.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes anatomy is essential.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well individually and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is highly desirable.
