What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathology Secretary position at Dermatology Associates?
Job Posting: Pathologist's Secretary
Key Accountabilities / Competencies:
- Transcription of pathology report dictation, including gross, microscopic, and diagnostic fields (with heavy use of macros).
- Preparation of final pathology report for distribution within the practice.
- Prepare send out cases for consultation or ancillary studies, with the assistance of other laboratory personnel.
- Work as part of a dynamic team, preparing gross reports for collation with slides to the histotechnologists, final reports to the Dermatopathologist for sign out, and signed reports to the accessioning clerk for delivery throughout the practice.
- Communicate with other lab personnel, the Dermatopathologist, and Dermatology staff to resolve any problems, with the intention of maintaining harmonious relations with all laboratory and dermatology staff.
- Work on coding pathology billing and reporting cancer cases
Requirements:
Candidate must have Medical transcription experience, with IntellipathPro familiarity a plus. Candidate must be energetic, dependable, hardworking, very conscientious individual who works well with others.
Hours Mon-Thur 7:00-4 and Fri 7-12
