Medical Billing-Payment Poster
Position Overview
Our Medical Billing/Payment Poster posts payments received within 72 business hours. Representatives act as liaisons between the patient and doctor’s office to answer questions and resolve issues related to customer billing. Must be able to read an EOB, work in a patient account to track billing and ensure that the notification process was followed. This position requires an individual with experience in patient billing, excellent customer service skills, attention-to-detail and the ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Essential Functions
- Experience reading EOB’s
- Helps file EDI agreements to enable account to be paid electronically.
- Allocates medical payments to medical charges
- Make notes in patient accounts as to action taken to resolve problems and respond to inquiries.
- Handle resolution of secondary claims.
- Concentration on Refunds.
- Disperse refunds monthly.
- Compare patient collection balance reports against aging claim reports.
- Report to supervisor recurrent problems with clients.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Paid Time Off
- 8 paid holidays once you have completed your 90-day probationary period.
- Paid vacation available after 6 months - The first year - 1 week vacation; second year- two weeks and vacation increases the longer you stay, up to 4 weeks.
- Paid Time Off - earn 2 hours of PTO for every pay period that you work your complete schedule, and you will have access to the PTO you have accrued after 90 days. You have the potential of earning 48 hours or 6 days of additional time off each year.
401k plan:
- Eligible after one year of service.
- DBA matches 25% match on your 401k contributions up to 6% of your salary.
- Employee vested in the plan at 20% per year of service.
If you are hired at DBA, we ask that you initially work the schedule of your trainer. After you have completed your training period, typically 30 days, your scheduled hours can be anywhere between 7 and 5:30, depending on the department. We pay you for 2-15 minute breaks and ask you to clock out for a 30 minute lunch break.
Our team wears scrubs and sneakers and we provide 2 sets of scrubs after you have worked with us for90 days. You are welcome to wear the company t-shirt we provide with jeans on Thursdays and Fridays.
