The Lead Patient Account Representative serves as the Business Office Lead, ensuring smooth operations across the revenue cycle. This role will focus on prior authorizations, benefit verifications (including surgical quotes), claims analysis, reporting, payment posting, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have expertise in revenue cycle management, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Starting Pay Range:
$25.00 - $31.00 per hour
Main Duties:
- Serve as the Business Office Lead, providing guidance and training to the team; provide support when manager is unavailable
- Perform insurance benefit verifications for dermatology services, including surgical procedures.
- Obtain prior authorizations for in-office procedures, buy-and-bill drugs, and surgeries.
- Provide accurate patient surgical quotes based on insurance benefits and communicate out-of-pocket costs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of revenue cycle functions, including charge entry, claims processing, denial management, and collections.
- Provide patient-centered customer service via phone
- Assist with staffing management including taking staff call-ins, staffing assignments, timecards and hiring

Collaborate with leadership on business office strategies, reporting, and workflow enhancements.
- Assist with special projects, audits, and compliance initiatives as needed
- Analyze claim trends, denials, and reimbursement patterns to optimize revenue collection.
- Generate and interpret advanced reports related to revenue cycle KPIs, payer performance, and aging accounts.
- Monitor insurance and patient aging accounts.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in medical billing, prior authorizations, and revenue cycle management (dermatology experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification, CPT/ICD-10 coding, claim submission, denials, and appeals.
- Proficiency in EHR and practice management systems (Cerner PWPM preferred).
- Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, and financial reconciliation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a high-volume dermatology clinic
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisor, clinical staff, and providers
Work Schedule:
Monday Friday, 40 hours per week, days
Hybrid remote work available (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
