DERMATOLOGY MEDICAL ASSISTANT
NEW, provider-owned, non-private equity DERMATOLOGY practice seeking a seasoned medical assistant!

This is a full-time position in a new and state-of-the-art office in Fairfax, Virginia! Our provider-owned Dermatology practice offers medical, aesthetic, and surgical dermatology including Mohs surgery. We are seeking an energetic and team-oriented individual to work directly with the practice leadership to provide exceptional care at every level. Required experience:
-2 years working directly as a medical assistant for a Dermatologist (MD or DO) with direct “hands-on” patient care
-2 years experience working directly with an electronic medical record (EMR) – EZDERM experience preferred
-2 years experience scribing while assisting providers during Dermatology patient visits
-2 years experience obtaining prior authorization, biologic therapy approvals, and managing and assisting patients with the iPledge program
-Strong understanding of Dermatology terminology, medications, procedures, and treatments
-Mohs surgery and aesthetic dermatology experience a BIG plus
-Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize patient and clinic needs and clinical situations throughout the day
-Leadership experience, team-oriented personality, exceptional customer experience, and a “self-starter” mentality
Position responsibilities:
-Rooming patients
-Patient medical record intake documentation into the EMR via iPad and/or desktop computer
-Checking basic vital signs
-Scribing medical notes accurately and completely during the visit for the providers in the EMR
-Directly assisting the providers with all aspects of Dermatology care; including general office visits, procedural/surgical office visits, cryotherapy, injections, biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, suturing, suture removal, wound care, cosmetic injections, and laser therapy
-Placing, facilitating, and documenting medication orders and laboratory tests for patients
-Providing educational assistance and information for patients
-Scheduling patients as needed for follow-up appointments in conjunction with the Front Desk Coordinator
-Sterilizing instruments and equipment
-Sanitizing exam rooms between patients
-Maintaining an organized nursing station, exam rooms, laboratory, and personal workspace
-Leading training for new staff hires
-Working with practice leadership to establish and revise practice policies and protocols to improve clinical flow
-Proven ability to self-start, work independently and seek out projects during downtime.
-Cross-training with several Front Desk Coordinator responsibilities including, but not limited to patient check-in, insurance verification, and patient appointment scheduling
