Position:
The Field Medical Director is a field-based professional withscientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providingmedical and scientific support for Dermavant’s programs. The Field MedicalDirector engages in scientific exchange with medical and scientific experts,including Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers;helps to identifypre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment withcorporate objectives; responds to customer inquiries to ensure focused andbalanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate useof products and services; delivers appropriate clinical and scientificinformation that clinically differentiates products; and provides clinicalsupport and delivers data presentations regionally and nationally.
Responsibilities:
- Establish Dermavant as a leader inimmuno-dermatology
- Identify, developand maintain long-term collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals(HCPs), professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, decision makersand other key stakeholders in the assigned therapy area and geography
- Maintain clinical, scientific and technicalexpertise in dermatology
- Present data andconduct balanced peer-to-peer scientific dialogue on Dermavant products with HCPs,academic institutions, clinical investigators, and other stakeholders that isconsistent with Dermavant policies and procedures
- Collaborate on the development andimplementation of the scientific communication plan, medical-to-medicalmaterials, and research including facilitation of researchcollaborations such as investigator-initiated trials and collaboration withClinical Development colleagues on investigator selection, relationship, and siteperformance/recruitment
- Assist in the scientifictraining for Commercial and other internal colleagues regarding products andthe conditions they treat utilizing approved materials
- Provide scientificexpertise and support for speaker training and advisory boards as requested
- Represent Dermavantat both national and regional medical meetings to drive awareness of Dermavant,support Medical Information booth activities as needed, cultivate relationshipsand scientific exchange, and gain real-world insight from HCPs on data anddisease area to share with internal colleagues and help inform strategy and plans
- Respond tounsolicited requests for medical information while adhering to all policies andprocedures regarding the provision of medical information and documentation ofrequests
Qualifications:
- PharmD, PhD, MD orequivalent education
- 5 years clinical practiceand/or pharmaceutical industry experience
- Dermatology or Immunologyexperience is preferred
- Ability to developand maintain strong, collaborative, and long-term relationships with HCPs, decisionmakers, and organizations
- Excellent interpersonalskills in both one on one and group settings and dedicated team player
- Strong communicationand presentation skills
- Demonstrated abilityto identify opportunities for medical engagement and to develop and drivescientific engagement goals and objectives
- Clear understandingof clinical research methodologies and ability to independently evaluate and translatescientific material in an effective credible manner.
- Ability to travel locally,regionally, and nationally up to ~50% when appropriate
