Deroose Plants Inc. is a supplier of young plants across the world. We have divisions in Europe (Belgium), China (Shanghai) and the USA (Apopka, FL).

Our company was founded in the early 1980s, and has since earned numerous awards for its unique and exclusive collections, as well as for its innovation.

We supply young plants and ornamental plants. Our product line includes bromeliads, spathiphillum, and other ornamental plants such as nepenthes, ficus, alocasia, codiaeum, chlorophytum and others.

GOALS:

Grow quality plants by:

· Keeping the location disease free, pests free, weed free, and algae free.

· Maintain the environmental growth factors in the targeted ranges.

· Implementing proper watering and fertilizing.

TASKS:

· Frequent scouting for pests, disease, drought, weed, algae, nutrition deficiency, etc.

· Applying pesticide, herbicide, fungicides, hormones, fertilizers, etc. safely.

· Hand watering plants.

· Measuring EC and pH.

· Learning different crops needs and developing specialty for the crops.

· Collaborating with other growers and R&D specialists to identify ways for improvement.

· Monitoring and reporting temperature, humidity, and light levels, as well as plants growth, abnormality, equipment maintenance, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Horticulture education or/and experience.

· Basic math and science.

· Willingness to listen and learn.

· Being detail oriented, goal oriented, organized, and proactive, and have clear communication and growth mindset.

· Physical ability to walk, lift, bend, stand, etc. comfortably and frequently.

· Ability to work on weekends and extended hours occasionally.

· Ability to work in typical weather conditions found in greenhouses.

REQUIRED WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time and in-person role, and it requires a minimum of 40‐hour work per week (Mon to Fri). Occasionally, the person might need to stay longer or work on weekends/holidays to perform tasks as needed. Sponsorship and relocations are not available.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
