What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenhouse/ Nursery Maintenance Technician position at Deroose Plants?
A successful Maintenance Technician will assist by performing preventative and routine maintenance tasks as assigned, troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance irrigation/plumbing systems
- Assists in maintaining greenhouse mechanical and electrical systems
- Assists in monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining greenhouses control systems
- Perform general labor tasks to obtain and keep the facility up and running
- Occasionally operates equipment (E/g., tractors, forklifts)
Requirements
- Electrical knowledge
- Plumbing or irrigation systems
- Some experience working in a greenhouse is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
- Collaborative work style is a must
- Must have good attendance and be reliable.
- Must also have the ability to work weekends and overtime from time to time as required for emergencies.
- Must meet minimum age requirement for regular employment at Deroose Plants Inc.
- Ability to work in warm and humid environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift

- Weekends as needed
