Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Assist attorneys with managing a high-volume docket of subrogation matters from inception through resolution.
- Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct legal research on applicable statutes, case law, and regulatory issues relevant to subrogation claims.
- Drafting & Documentation: Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
- Investigation & Evidence Gathering: Gather supporting documentation, review investigative reports, and coordinate with experts to strengthen liability arguments.
- Client & Third-Party Communication: Liaise with clients, insureds, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.
- Litigation Support: Assist in trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, deposition summaries, and organizing case files.
- Calendar & Deadline Management: Maintain court deadlines, filing schedules, and case milestones to ensure timely compliance with procedural requirements.
- Technology & Database Management: Utilize case management software and litigation technology to track case progress and maintain accurate records.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in subrogation, insurance recovery, or plaintiff-side litigation.
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures in New York and New Jersey.
- Experience drafting legal documents and managing discovery processes.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
