Basketball Referee

Job Description:
We are seeking certified and experienced Basketball Referees to officiate our 18 co-ed basketball leagues. This position requires strong knowledge of the game, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain control and fairness during competitive play in a co-ed environment. Each game will have two referees to ensure smooth and accurate officiating.

Key Responsibilities:

• Officiate 18 co-ed basketball games while ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with a second referee to manage game flow and make accurate and timely calls.
• Address any disputes or conflicts with professionalism and authority.
• Maintain a safe and respectful environment for players, coaches, and spectators.
• Be punctual and prepared for each scheduled game.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Applicants must hold a basketball refereeing certification from a sanctioned organization (e.g., PIAA or equivalent).
• Insurance: Must provide proof of a Certificate of Insurance (COI) with coverage of at least $1,000,000.
• Background Checks: Must have the following clearances:
• FBI Background Check
• Child Abuse Background Check
• Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check
• *If you do not possess any combination of the above requirements, they must be obtained before refereeing your first game*

Schedule and Compensation:

• Compensation: $30 per game
• Schedule:
• Wednesday Evenings: 5:15 PM – 9:15 PM (5 games)
• Saturday Mornings: 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM (6 games)
