Fork Lift Operator

DES Employment Group is working with a logistics and warehousing service company in Muscatine, IA that needs a 1st shift Forklift Operator. Wage is $19 per hour and hours are M-F 8am-4:30pm: Must pass CRT/Physical, drug screen (10 panel including THC) and National criminal background check for 7 years. 1-2 years experience longevity on resume required.

• Unloads inbound shipments, verifying merchandise matches shipping documents. Moves merchandise to storage properly documenting put away locations and reporting any shipment discrepancies.
• Operates sit down forklift and other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner to eliminate personal injuries, merchandise damage, and damage to the warehouse.
• Operates various types of attachments and equipment required to handle merchandise.
• Inspects forklifts daily to identify any potential problems with the equipment and reporting these potential problems to Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
• Perform minor maintenance to forklifts that can be accomplished with the tools available, and ability of employee.
• Performs or assists in building, grounds, and equipment cleaning. Understands the importance to participate in sanitation, pest control, and all other actions that promote food safety within the warehouse operation.

The warehouse environment can be dusty, dry, and humid, with temperature ranges between 40 - 90 degrees. Some odors might be present dependent upon the product in storage. Food soy and wheat flour allergens may be present in the warehouse.

We will perform National Criminal Background checks and drug screens. CRT and physical.
